Poplar Springs Historic Community Association

Who We Are
Poplar Springs Historic Community Association is a locally organized and operated
501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our nationally recognized historic district.
Our mission is to promote, support, and engage in the improvement and preservation of neighborhood properties and to prevent community deterioration while educating the public about history and architecture, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the appeal of PSHCA as described by the National Register of Historic Places Inventory Nomination Form of August 21, 1987.
Our current goals include growing our membership base and increasing public awareness of the benefits of ownership of historic properties. We intend to prove the worth of historic districts to the city as a whole through profitability as a tourism asset and as a tool to nurture a sense of community
What We Do
Poplar Springs Historic Community Association exists both for the benefit of historic district residents and for the education of all.
For our Poplar Springs Historic District residents, we survey interest in activities or improvements for our neighborhood and act as representatives for our constituency to the city government.
For education, we create programs open to everyone.
Our Poplar Springs Historic Walking Trail offers a tour of the architectural and historical highlights of Poplar Springs Drive, accessible on the web or in print.
We offer information about state and national tax incentives available for historic properties.
Additionally, we hold open meetings with speakers on current affairs and topics of interest to those who care about preserving our past.
