2523 Poplar Springs Drive
This house is a combination of architectural styles, making it eclectic. It is mostly a combination of Prairie and Classical styles. It was built by Eugene Butler. The house, now a century old, was constructed around 1913, and was likely built by hand from raw materials brought on site. The Molpus family lived in the house at one time. Richard Molpus helped develop the Molpus Lumber Company. One of his grandsons would later become Mississippi’s Secretary of State. The house was later bought by Cornelius Rosenbaum, who owned the R&M Fire Service.
